“Lethal Company” is a new co-op indie horror video game created by a single developer named Zeeker. An indie solo developer has created the smash hit game. The game is quite simple. Teams of four workers are sent into abandoned moon bases to grab scrap and to meet their companies profit quota. If players do not meet such expected quota, they are launched into a black hole.

That is not the only threat that players face. The game throws creatures from different planets including things that will drag players into the darkness and eat them. The game has features such as proximity chat where the players can only speak to the people near them. But speaking in “Lethal Company” can result in death because some of the planet’s wildlife can hear you speak and will hunt you down.

A reason why “Lethal Company” blew up this past month is due to multiple factors. These factors are that the game is relatively inexpensive, only costing $10 and will always stay at this price. Another reason why this game is popular right now is because big time YouTube and Twitch streamers such as Ninja, CaseOh, Jynxi and many other content creators are playing this game. Because big name content creators are playing “Lethal Company,” it is drawing in the creator’s fanbase to come and try out this terrifying masterpiece. The highest player count of the game “Lethal Company” is 240,817 in a 24 hour peak on the Steam charts.

On the Steam best selling page, “Lethal Company” is outselling Activision’s “Modern Warfare 3.” While the Call of Duty franchise is well known for their nonstop action first person shooter games, this small little indie game came out of nowhere and is dethroning a multimillion dollar company’s massively produced video game.

Senior Keaden McClain said, “Lethal Company’s ability to scare the daylights out of me and my friends is out of this world.”
