FVHS Student Council is holding the FVHS holiday door decorating competition. This event was an annual tradition, and our staff requested to bring it back. The custodians at our school will be judging the competition. Teachers all around the school are participating in this competition in hopes to win the best door in the school.
Students are heavily encouraged to be involved and help their teachers decorate their doors.
The contest started on Monday, Dec. 4, and ends on Monday, Dec. 11.
There will be three different gift cards given to first, second and third place winners. All of the gift cards will be to local Fuquay-Varina restaurants.
First place will receive a $25 gift card, second will receive $15, and third will get $10. This event has been going on for years, and our staff requested to bring it back. The custodians at our school will be judging the competition.
“I’m expecting everyone to have fun but also be competitive. There are lots of competitive people that signed up so I’m looking forward to it,” said Student Council advisor Shannon O’Brien.
Events like these are important to the school because they bring people together, while also having fun.
“I know the three weeks before break are hard so that’s why Student Council made something fun to keep us busy,” said O’Brien.
There are lots of different creative ideas scattered throughout the school. Some include things like winter wonderland and a fireplace themed door.
Teachers and students are working very hard to make their door decorations a success and make sure their door wins.
