Every semester, teachers are required to assess their students on the progress they have made throughout the semester. Why should this only be a thing for teachers?
There’s always a teacher who doesn’t do as good of a job as the others. Students, as they are with their teacher longer than they are at home, should be able to realize if the teacher is doing a good job at teaching or not.
Students being able to evaluate their teachers and rate them based on their own opinions is important because it not only shows the school how the teacher performs when not monitored, but it also gives the school ways to better improve the way they pick teachers.
Sophomore Amina Kaissi said, “ I’ve had bad teachers in the past, and I wish I could have had the opportunity to evaluate them for the principal to see.”
Some teachers get away with not teaching the right way and this reflects on the students and their grades. If students aren’t being taught the right way, this could affect their grades and their future classes. If a student doesn’t fully understand a subject or didn’t learn it correctly because of the teacher, then on tests they will most likely not do well.
In classes like math, material is often reviewed in the next year, and students are expected to remember them. If a student wasn’t taught how to do something correctly due to a bad teacher, it will cause them to fall behind the other kids because they will have to relearn it.
The only way to ensure a student has the brightest future possible is to let them evaluate their teachers so nobody has to fear having a bad teacher.

I don’t agree, because the students may be biased towards the teachers, and not give an actual answer.
