Summer is coming soon and people are now starting to enjoy more activities outside, such as swimming, biking, running, camping, and more. One thing that can also be enjoyed is ice-cold treats that can cool you down from the summer heat.

Sweet Frog is a frozen yogurt spot that has many flavors to choose from. They were founded in 2009 by Derek Cha, when he and his family moved to Richmond, Virginia. Even though the cost was low and the economy wasn’t very friendly, they still chose to open a frozen yogurt shop. 

According to the Sweet Frog website, they want their customers to enjoy coming. Their slogan is “Where our goal is to create the best-frozen yogurt experience you’ve had.” Sweet Frog has over three hundred shops with over one hundred flavors to choose from such as, no-sugar-added cheesecake, salted caramel pretzel, passion orange guava, toasted marshmallow, and blue cotton candy. They also have assorted toppings to go with the frozen yogurt. They have different categories of what you can choose from such as fresh fruit, candy, nuts and cereal, sauces, and more. 

If needed, Sweet Frog has a lot of options to choose from that aren’t just frozen yogurt. They have no sugar options, low-fat, nonfat, dairy-free, soft serve, gelato, ice cream, and frozen treats to meet the customers’ needs. 

Another great place to visit this summer is Pelican’s Snoballs. It was founded by Ansley Johnson who at the time was 13 years old and loved visiting her grandparents in New Orleans. She was fascinated by carnival snow cones and wanted to bring them to Garner, North Carolina. With both of her parents working, she had help from her younger brothers. Johnson named the business Pelicans after the Louisiana state bird. 

Pelicans has a great variety of flavors to choose from such as vanilla cola, birthday cake, dill pickle, fruity pebbles, mai-tai, root beer, and so much more. Pelicans have been open for over 20 years and are still going strong.

 According to the Pelican’s website, “The tradition that Ansley started of the “World’s Best SnoBall” coupled with the “World’s Best Customer Service” is still the face of the company [even] today.” 

Both Sweet Frog and Pelicans are great options for when it’s hot outside, and you want something to cool you off. Both are great places to bring your family and friends, enjoy time together, and create new memories.
