Men’s Golf looks forward to making it to States Tournament

It’s been another successful season for the FVHS men’s golf team. The boys are on their way to back-to-back conference championships due to outstanding play from everyone in the lineup.

It has been the play of senior captains Daniel Boone and Andrew Perry that has mainly contributed to the Bengals’ success. The pair are no. 1 and no. 2 in the conference in scoring average.

The path to the state championship is starting to take shape for Fuquay as they approach regionals. With only two matches left, the Bengals will soon lock up consecutive conference titles.

“We’re going to win the conference for back-to-back years, which is something that hasn’t been done in a very long time, so that means a lot to us,” said Perry.

The goal now for Perry and his teammates is to make it to the state championship. This would require an impressive outing from the team at their regional tournament in three weeks.

“In order for us to get from regionals to states, we’re going to need everybody to work very hard that week before. It will be important for the five of us to be playing at our best that day at regionals,” Perry said.

There is a belief amongst the team that they have what it takes to make the state championship due to their great chemistry and ability to work together to find success.

“The entire team is seniors, and we all get along very well. We have good team chemistry together,” Perry explained.
