More than the ingredients
Pizza is a favorite food everywhere, but where is the best local pizza? Pizza is made of simple ingredients cheese, sauce, and dough. You would think it’s straightforward; however, the variation in the taste of different restaurants’ pizza is very obvious.
Pizza places vary not only in the taste of the pizza but also in the type of restaurant. Such as if you wanted a buffet-style pizza place, I would say you should go to Cicis’s Pizza. However, if you wanted a nice sit-down pizza place, I would recommend Mellow Mushroom. It is not only a nice sit-down pizza place but also provides a wide variety of pizzas with many different variations of toppings.
Moving more into fast food type pizza, Dominos, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, and Little Caesars are the most well-known out there. To be honest, I don’t really like fast-food pizza. It’s pretty greasy, and quite frankly not that good in comparison to real pizza places. If I had to pick one though, I would have to say Dominos purely for their breadsticks.
I can’t write an article about pizza without bringing up a frozen pizza. Frozen pizza is really good for some reason. Personally, unless I was getting breadsticks I would choose a frozen pizza ten out of ten times over fast food pizza. Frozen pizza is not only really good but it’s also really convenient because you can make it at home and it’s really easy to make. You just throw it in the oven for a few minutes. My personal favorite frozen pizza brand is Mama which you can get at Aldi, but in addition, there are other good frozen pizzas at stores like Costco, Harris Teeter, and Trader Joe’s.
Last but definitely not least is New York-style pizza. It is hands down the best pizza you will ever have. Since we’re in North Carolina, you can’t have New York pizza, but you can have pizza that is very similar. My favorite restaurants that have this type of pizza are Mamma Mia and Cristos.
Finally, my favorite local pizza is Mamma Mia, and Cristos is a close second. Both of these restaurants are found in Holly Springs, and I highly recommend giving them a try.
