Nintendo is one of the biggest gaming franchises ever with tons of their games at the top of the most sold charts such as “Wii Sports” at 4th, “Super Mario Bros” at 6th, and “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe” at 7th. Nintendo’s newest addition to its line of video game consoles is the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch has tons of big hits such as “Super Smash Bros Ultimate,” “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “Pokemon Sword n Shield,” and “Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.”

Every year Nintendo releases Nintendo Direct which includes previews of upcoming games for the following year to get the fans excited, and this year is no exception. Tons of new additions to well-known franchises were revealed, including “Pikmin 4,” “Hollow Nights Silk song,” “Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom,” and “Fire Emblem Engage.”

A new “Hollow Knight” game is a big deal because this game has a huge fan base for being made by an independent game developer. “Hollow Knight” is a single-player Metroidvania game, which is a subgenre of adventure that follows a nameless warrior who explores a fallen kingdom. This game is known for the challenge it offers.

Not only is Nintendo making a big mark in games this year but also movies. The “Super Mario Bros” movie has been blowing up on the Internet. The Mario teaser has 15 million views on YouTube, and the movie has famous actors voice acting the iconic Mario Bros. characters with Chris Pratt as Mario and Jack Black as Bowser.

This is going to be a big year for Nintendo with the new games coming out this year, possible DLC, and of course the “Super Mario” movie.
