You in 10 years time
Every New Year you tell yourself you’ll become a better you, but how much better will you be in 10 years? Many people want to become doctors, defense attorneys, or even personal chefs. In the course of those years, many things can happen. Some things go as planned and some don’t. Where do you think you’ll be in 10 years?
Senior Angeli Cardoza has a good idea of what she wants to be. After attending Wake Tech for a two-year program, she’ll get her license and become an x-ray technician. While in the program, Cardoza will be learning about health science and how the x-ray machine works. Not only does Cardoza want to have her first house by the time she’s 28, but she also wants to travel, as much as she can.
Cardoza just doesn’t see herself as an x-ray technician.
“Right now I just want a steady career but I am also interested in doing eyelashes, facials, and prosthetics. I feel like I would do that as a side hustle,” said Cardoza.
Another senior, Camryn Scales, has a different idea of what she wants to happen over the course of 10 years. By the time Scales is 28, she wants to be living in Charlotte with a doctorate in Child Psychology. While Scales doesn’t want to settle down just yet, she does want to be moved out and no longer rely on her parents.
Scales sees herself being a Child Psychologist for the rest of her life, but she doesn’t want to stop there. She also wants to travel.
“I want to see all of Africa and Brazil,” Scales said.
Senior Cristal Hernandez-Aguirre wants to complete all her life goals within the next 10 years.
She wants to study law and criminology and be a part of a legal team.
“I do like preparing myself for something I enjoy doing so that it will not feel like a job. I want to really experience what I am creating and that is making a better world,” Hernandez-Aguirre said.
Everyone wants to be something different once they grow up, whether it changes or stays the same. No matter where you go, you can always achieve anything you set your mind to.
